Davenport Landing Beach
With an expansive intertidal bed unlike anywhere else on the central California coast, this beach is the prime spot for mussel foraging. 1.5 hours south of San Francisco and Oakland and just over 1 hour from Palo Alto, this is an ideal location for Silicon Valley-based groups, or large San Francisco- or East Bay-based groups.
Muir Beach
Tucked away in the dreamy slopes of coastal Marin county, this gem is home to a medium-sized mussel population. Better for smaller and/or North Bay-based groups, this beautiful spot is 45 minutes dive from the heart of San Francisco and Downtown Oakland.
